ABOUT ME

I am a values driven leader who is passionate about supporting individuals and organisations grow.

 

My career has spanned sectors including healthcare, education and the creative arts industries. I have worked across the private, public, and not-for-profit/charity sectors and I am currently the Executive Officer for a healthcare education regulator, which has given me a full understanding of the needs of an organisation as well as the challenges facing those working in executive positions.

Wherever I work, I am passionate about developing learning cultures, reflective practice and creating empowering safe working environments through living my values.

Arriving to Work

In addition to my executive position, I channel my passion for growth and development into coaching and mentoring, working with those who need to make high impact decisions, change direction, or maintain performance often while working within systems or cultures undergoing rapid change.

I have been offering coaching for over a decade working with leaders, managers, teams and individual employees to problem-solve, innovate and grow.

I am presently working with clients from across a range of sectors, including

  • Those in early careers helping them to grow, perform or take on new challenges.

  • Middle and senior leaders looking to challenge themselves build stronger teams and bring about culture change.

  • Those in executive positions to grow in their leadership abilities,

I believe that growth, both personal and professional, come when we are curious, open to questioning ourselves (our beliefs and assumptions), and are willing to try things out, even being comfortable to fail.

 

As a coach I believe that my clients have the answers within themselves to unlock solutions, using their existing strengths and experience to achieve success. I work with each client to find the best and most effective means of unlocking their potential.

My coaching environment offers a quiet, inclusive and reflective space to enable  clients to pause – providing the time to unpack their issues at their own pace.

 

I build trust and a rapport so that clients can explore their issues and identify their goals in an accepting environment. providing thoughtful challenge by listening and asking questions to enable clients to consider, plan, try, evaluate, and reflect on their situation.

And as someone who has spent a career helping others learn and develop, I believe that the definition of success as a coach is when clients realise that they no longer need my services, having the ability to reflect and coach themselves.

I was initially sceptical about whether coaching was for me. But with each session, I become a real fan of pausing, reflecting, and considering issues from different angles.

I use this approach now on a daily basis and it prompts me to consider the choices before me more carefully and find better solutions. I think I will take this forward with me long after the coaching sessions are over.

Coaching gave me the confidence to do something different with my team which I have been thinking about doing for a while.
The coaching sessions gave me the opportunity to discuss my concerns and talk through the options. My staff have noticed the change and I am now using the coaching approaches Nina used with me to help them to deliver more innovative services.

Working through my assumptions was challenging as I didn’t realise they were there. I thought my decision making was based more on data, but the reality was different. I am now making decisions based on what’s best for the situation rather than those assumptions.

And it was a safe space to be able to voice them – in a place where there was no judgement. My confidence grew as a result of facing them.
